Let this guide our day today

1 Corinthians 9:24-25

24 Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person
gets the prize? So run to win! 25 All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will
fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.

-In this life we are always wanting to know
what is in it for us but this race is for our eternal reward. Paul encourages
us to be disciplined and train hard meaning our walk with Jesus is not a part
time job to do when we feel like it or when Jesus fits in our schedule. Paul
stresses to train to win not to just place.

-What we can receive from all this is when we
run for the eternal prize, we continue to win daily here on earth… if we keep
running. Let this guide our thoughts today.
