1 Peter 5 NLT  7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.  

• Peter is likely drawing on Psalms 55: 22 Give your burdens to the LORD, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall., this line provides comfort to believers in the face of persecution and suffering. God not only will deliver believers from their troubles in the future, but He demonstrates His loving care in the present by hearing their prayers.  

• I love how Peter uses the word “will.” It’s not up for negotiation so don’t hesitate to give your burdens to the Lord. He doesn’t want you to carry them and if you think about it… HE’S actually expecting them. Let this guide our thoughts today.
