Let this guide our day today

1 Corinthians 13

8 Love
never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there
are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass
away.

-This scripture is saying that special abilities given by
God (spiritual gifts) will eventually end, but love will last forever. Theologically,
it asserts that while gifts like prophecy are provisional tools for this age,
love is God’s essential, enduring nature that persists into eternity, defining
the believer's ultimate destiny and character.

-His love will never fail us. God doesn’t want
us to focus on HIS gifts that may flow though us because they come and go as HE
wills them, but HIS love comes from the cross not because of our good or bad
behavior. Strive to do good but in our times of failure HIS love is there to
bring us back if we let it. Let this guide our thoughts today.
