December - Day 24

Let this guide our day today
2 Corinthians 6 NIV
2 For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.
- Paul quotes Isaiah 49:8 to appeal to the Corinthians and emphasize God's readiness to receive them when they turn to Him. Just as God restored Israel from exile, He now reconciles people to Himself through Christ. The day of salvation refers to the present period of time (between Christ's first and second comings) in which reconciliation with God is available to all people.
- This promise was foretold about Jesus in Isaiah 49:8. Many times we feel alone and helpless. We can't find peace or a way out. This scripture lets us know that because of the cross we are in Christ. There is no sorrow, sadness, fear, loneliness, helplessness and the like so know that the Jesus reaches out to you in these times to draw you to Himself where this doesn't exist.
